Best Venues for Outdoor Weddings in South Florida

Finding the best outdoor venue can be hard. There are so many questions that come from hosting your wedding outdoors, in Florida. It feels like most months out of the year, we worry about Plan B in case of rain, so finding the perfect venue that can accommodate a Plan B in case of inclement weather is crucial!

Through the almost 20 years we’ve been planning weddings, we’ve dealt with many rainy wedding days, which means we’ve been at many venues without having a second option for rain. On the week of your wedding, you should be checking the weather every day! We always recommend you have a tent reserved just in case, because if you need one 2 days before due to 30%-40% or more, it’s less likely you will find one.

We’ve found some venues that are easy to work with when it comes to Plan B’s:

1. Villa Woodbine in Miami

Villa Woodbine in Miami has a permanent tent up in their Garden during the months of June through September (a 40’ x 60’ tent, is what is included in your package for those months, but you can always upgrade to a bigger tent if you have a larger guest count), for your convenience, which means you don’t have to worry about the weather! It’s air conditioned, so your guests won’t feel any humidity!

2. The Palms Hotel & Spa in Miami Beach

The Palms Hotel & Spa in Miami Beach has many options for outdoor weddings. A. They have the beach that’s connected to their hotel, so it’s just a walk away for your guests.
B. Their South Lawn, which seats up to 100 guests, is a great option for a lawn wedding.
C. Their Grand Tiki, which we love to use for the party and dancing part of the night, is also an option for a reception space if you have a smaller guest count.
D. Their Gazebo can be used for either your ceremony or cocktail hour.
E. The Veranda Terrace is perfect for your reception and it can be used as Plan B for an outdoor wedding, it’s covered, but it’s still outdoors, so it gives you the best of both worlds!
F. Of course they also have 3 ballrooms which you can use for your indoor wedding!

3. Deering Estate in Palmetto Bay

Deering Estate in Palmetto Bay is a gorgeous museum with 450 beautiful acres of possibilities! Your ceremony can have a beautiful water view background at the Front Lawn, which can also be used for your reception (to use it as a reception space, you would need to bring in flooring to go through your reception space, since it’s all grass). The most common place to host your reception would be the Courtyard, it’s the perfect place and the surrounding house looks beautiful in pictures. The Courtyard can hold up to a 80’ x 40’ tent, so make sure it’s a clear top tent, that way you can still see all the architectural features and the beautiful sky!

I hope this guide helps you in making a decision for your beautiful outdoor wedding!
