In a world of social media, Pinterest, blogs, and who knows what else, it’s easy for weddings to all look the same. While there’s nothing wrong with getting inspired from current trends, your wedding should reflect who you are as a couple and your personalities, not what you browse on TikTok.

Start with your story as a couple and choose meaningful details that represent the two of you. Originality doesn’t mean reinventing the wheel, it means making intentional choices that will have your guests saying “This is so them!” on your wedding day.

You should break free from the “theme”, maybe focus on the atmosphere. Intimate? Moody? Eclectic? Color? Party all the way? These are important factors when designing, you want to know how you want to feel on the day of your wedding and this can also take you away from the typical theme.

If you’re having a destination wedding at a location you love to vacation as a couple, maybe incorporate location specific details that you both love or if you’re both from different parts of the world, use specific details that will reflect your cultural backgrounds.
